Wasp Nest Removal Knutsford

Knutsford changes character within half a mile. Around Canute Place and up King Street you are dealing with old town-centre frontages, shop units below and flats or storage above. Turn towards Legh Road and it is large houses in their own grounds — late Georgian through Victorian, Edwardian and interwar, most of them behind mature planting. • Old garden walls, banks and rockeries — loose coping stones, dry banks and abandoned mouse runs under a mature lawn are classic ground-nest sites. Most people find them with a mower.
• Yew, laurel and box hedging — the clipped boundaries that give these gardens their privacy also hide aerial nests, usually until somebody reaches in with the shears.
• King Street and Princess Street rooflines — slipped slates, fascia voids above shop signage, rear yards and cellar grilles. Wasps working a town-centre building almost always come in over the shopfront rather than at ground level.
• Veteran trees on the Tatton side — hollow oaks and limes along the park boundary carry hornet colonies as well as wasp ones. If your garden backs onto the Moor or the park wall you will get the traffic whether or not the nest is on your land, and we will say so rather than treat something that is not yours to fix.

More than one nest, most summers

A five-bedroom house standing in a third of an acre gives a queen far more choice than a semi on an estate. Roof, coach house, greenhouse, compost heap, hedge line, the bank under the beech — all of it is available to her, and several of those get used in the same year.
